"anna moralista"

That's my new Plurk nickname, after a rising tension in the Plurk community this morning. Apparently, some people got offended by plurks from other people on their friends list. Actually, a "friend" removed me from his list when I "bull'seyed" him with comments about dirty plurks. He removed me from his list then started yappin' on how he's an imperfect being and a sinner, that he's not a sosyalera englishera, etc... etc.. Like I care.

One of my friends were also being "bull'seyed" by her co-workers (at first without her knowing it) because yesterday she mentioned about "trivial" plurks being nonsensical, about people always craving for attention, etc. She even said she'll block people on her list if they become "plurk spammers". For me, that was a bit "over". And to think she even broadcasted it. A few hours later some of her co-workers who "love to plurk" read those plurks and probably got offended, so they started plurking with contempt about a blind item who's a sosyalera englishera. That kinda hurt me coz I knew they were talking about my friend. But I can't do anything about it; she did what she did, and they reacted.

Honestly, I'm a bit worried about them coz they're my former colleagues and I don't want them fighting over plurks. It's just soooo shallow. I see each persons point of view and I do believe that it's all just a miscommunication and I hope they'd work it out in the near future.

P.L.U.R.K. - Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, Karma
My acknowledgments to Gaye for researching what Plurk really stood for!

So I DID have a point when I said NO to dirty plurks! Because proper plurking involves RESPECT.

after many ponderings...

...I finally decided to create my online store! Of course I still need to plan out the design and whether or not I will get my own hosting. I could just reformat a free blogsite so it would look like a store (hehe, kuripot but sensible!). But first I need to create designs for the page.

Congratulations!
I know it's a bit late but I just want to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to all the awardees of the recent 2008 Philippine Blog Awards! I'm 10% envious and 90% inspired by you guys! Keep it up!

the encounter with a purgatorian

I recently published my days-in-the-making article in my WordPress blogsite about why I left Catholicism. Honestly, I had no intention of starting a debate with people, although I did welcomed comments and violent reactions (I expected those to happen), but not a debate. This person, who called himself "asimplesinner", argued with me about the doctrine of purgatory. After a few exchanges of convicting ideas, he suddenly stopped replying. Hmm...he probably thought it wasn't worth the argument.

Headache!
I woke up to a nasty sinusitis today, which started as a slight headache yesterday after I had a whole body massage here at home. I think I'm not really good with facial reflexology.

dvd sale!

I'm selling my DVD player! The model is JVC XV-N412S. One year old, in good condition, first owned. I think it still has one year warranty left but I have to recheck on that. It's original price is Php6,800, but I'm selling it for Php2,500. If interested please email me - annika.rei@gmail.com. Or post a comment here.

Here's a review of that DVD player model.

rain, rain, go away...

I was supposed to go to Mandaluyong today to visit my former colleagues but the rain just won't stop! I need to pick up all my leftover stuff there before someone else does. My sister committed to go with me next Tuesday. Swell.

Bhea's assignment
I slept at around 3am this morning because I had to finish my niece's assignment: 30 breeds of dogs with picture and characteristics. I just wonder what that had got to do with a fourth grader's curriculum! Do they really need to study dogs?? Probably their teacher has plans of putting up a pet shop...or a dog pound.

Bible study
I'm getting addicted to studying the Bible these past few months. I'm surprised at how little I know about the truth in it - thanks to Catholic priests.

I need to get some sleep...I should probably set aside some other stuff today. That article should have to wait.

tedious article

I've been composing my latest article for my wordpress blog, and it's taking me a lot of time to finish it. I hope it's gonna be worth it!

Passport
I need to remember to finally get a passport next week, except on Monday. It's dentist day. I'm thinking of who to go with...to DFA, not the dentist's clinic! And speaking of dentist, I'm finally considering getting some braces on.

Plurk, plurk, plurk...
I think I'm getting addicted to Plurk.com. It's really a fun way to communicate with friends. It's unique and I get to share my thoughts instantly.

to freelance or not to freelance

I've exerted enough effort to be oDesk ready, however I still can't find a suitable project to apply on! I'm already losing patience and hope on this one...

Brainbench Dilemma
I successfully passed a Brainbench online certification last September 24. When I tried to purchase the actual certificate, I entered my MasterCard debit card number and other required info (take note: debit card not credit card) but there was an error in the online processing. After a few days I found out that the actual amount of the certificate ($14 = Php695) was deducted from my savings account. I tried to follow-up with my bank (Banco De Oro) and Brainbench customer support, but they keep pointing fingers at each other. Now the question remains: where is my money?!

Online Application
I tried to apply in several companies via Jobstreet, then withdrew them a few days later. I finally made a decision to apply in companies near my place (no more Makati companies!) for my family's sake. However, it's a bit challenging because IT positions here are scarce and don't have competitive pay compared to those in Manila. I also tried looking for IT homebased jobs but no luck still.

I know I shouldn't give up but this is really starting to stress me out.

the plan...

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD ,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me,
and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me
when you seek me with all your heart."
- Jeremiah 29:11-13

I know God has a plan for me, and it will be good and I'll be okay, as long as I put my faith in Him.

welcome to my life!

It's a beautiful sunny day today. It's been one month and eight days since I've started this vacation from employment, ha ha! Frankly, I still don't know what to do with my life right now. Although I've plenty of spare time (actually, all the time in the world).

So I've decided to create this blog as my personal diary or my life's journal from now on, so my friends and other people who care about me will have an idea about what's going on in my life and in my head.

I bet you've a pretty good idea about what "going back to the drawing board" means...

From GoEnglish:

"back to the drawing board"

When the project you are working on fails, and you have to start again, you go back to the drawing board. Example: "It looks like my plan to kill the weeds in the garden has failed. Back to the drawing board."

The drawing board is the place where a designer begins with an idea and builds it into a plan. If your plan is not successful, then you have to go back to the drawing board to start again and think up a new plan. Example: "How is your science project coming along?" Reply: "It didn't work at all!" Answer: "Well, back to the drawing board." Example: "How's your effort to be the most dedicated employee in your company?" Reply: "They freakin' laid me off!" Answer: "Well, back to the freakin' drawing board!"

So I guess it's about time that I really lay my plans out and think it thoroughly. No rushing in, and no procrastinating. Time is of the essence!

About the banner: well, it's a couple of hours effort on Adobe Photoshop...sheesh, I am THAT amateur.
